A room with a view
Scandinavian Underwater Structures AB is currently building a semi-submersible underwater house in Sweden. The view above is from this house. The water in the Baltic Sea is slightly murky, but thanks to all organic material, there is plenty of fish in the sea. In the long run, we plan to build more semi-submersible and submersible underwater houses in countries such as the Bahamas, Brazil, Maldives, Spain and the USA. Our focus is international.
A shoal of small fish outside the front window. The semi-submersible underwater room is located in a harbor with plenty of small and somewhat larger fishes.
A small entry cabin lifted onto the lower, heavy part of the underwater room. A huge, floating crane was needed for lifting the 30-ton lower part of the room.
The lower part of the house being lifted into the water. The photo shows the room from the side.
Raft under construction in the harbor.
A shoal of fish outside the main window. The underwater house function as an artifical reef for the fishes.
